Center for Signal Transduction &
Metabolomics(C-STM) is a newly
established innovative research center in the Institute of
Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It aims to conduct
forefront research on plant signal transduction and
metabolism. The research in these areas is very important to
plant biology and agriculture. Some related applications
are: modification of plant architecture, plant growth and
fertilization behavior, the flowering time; prevention of
pre-harvesting seed sprouting and pathogen attack; the
improvement of energy efficiency, etc.
C-STM endeavors to answer fundamental questions on
plant signal transduction related with plant development and
defense. It focuses on topics of national strategic
importance, which have potential applications in agriculture
and pharmacy. Our research center currently includes seven
research groups:
·
Prof. Chun-ming Liu's Group: Embryogenesis and Peptide
Signaling
·
Prof. Yuxin Hu's Group: Plant Hormone Signaling and Organongenesis
·
Prof. Xiaoquan Qi's Group: Metabolites and Disease Resistance
· Prof.
Shanjin Huang's Group: Plant Cytoskeleton
·
Prof. Zheng Meng's Group: Function and Adaption of Floral Genes
·
Prof. Jie Le's Group: Plant Epidermal
Development and Signal Transduction
·
Prof. Youfa Cheng's Group: Plant Hormone Metabolism
