    Research Fields£º

Our lab aims to understand plant secondary metabolic pathways and their regulation mechanism, decipher critical genes and metabolites in plant defense and develop Brachypodium distachyon as a new monocot model plant for functional comparative genomics and metabolomics analysis in grass species. These studies have broad implications in sustainable agriculture, food and pharmaceutical industries. The main research directions are:

      1) plant secondary metabolism and plant defense.
      2) comparative functional genomics among Brachypodium distachyon and main cereal crops, such as wheat, barley and oats.
      3) establishment of plant metabolomics platform.
